Trillium: The Tremendous Treehouse of Windows

Nestled on the banks of a serene pond, this two-story treehouse rises 15 feet high in a soaring cedar. A curved staircase winds around the tree, stopping at a mid-way viewing platform before climbing to the front door. Perhaps most notable are the many windows, which cover nearly every inch of the Trillium’s walls and provide panoramic views of the forest.

It’s easy to fall in love with Trillium at Treehouse Point.

The Trillium roosts behind the Pond Room, a multi-purpose space for special events. A bridge passes across a creek at the base of the Trillium. A short walk past Trillium are the Bathhouses, which are complete with heated flooring, showers, toilets, and even an outdoor shower for the warmer months.

The Trillium’s proximity to the pond provides sweeping views of the water. Trillium’s mid-way platform, sheltered from the rain for year-round viewing, is one of the best places to view the pond.

Natural branch railing posts add whimsy to the Trillium’s staircase. Guests can give some love to the central cedar as they climb to the front door.

Inside of Trillium

Inside, guests are met with warm wood paneling, a classic ship’s ladder, and fantastic forest vistas through the walls of windows. A smooth, live-edge slab makes for the perfect countertop.

Windows cover most of the Trillium’s four walls, granting guests stellar views of the forest. The tranquil forest views imbue the treehouse with a sense of sanctity. Upon walking into the Trillium for the first time, many people whisper when they speak—it just feels right in such a beautiful place.

Climbing the ship’s ladder to the bedroom loft harkens back to childhood notions of treehouses. The loft holds a cozy, queen-sized bed.

Push back the curtains beside the bed to reveal a toilet and sink.

Looking out from the loft to the bottom floor is a magical experience. Gold-hued pendant lights hang from the ceiling, and the windows showcase the forest in a unique way only seen in Trillium.

Hideaway: The Hidden Escape at Treehouse Point

Tucked between ferns, bushes, and towering evergreens is an escape from the rise and grind of everyday life. This is Hideaway, Treehouse Point’s rustic cedar cabin that overlooks the roaring Raging River. Just like the name implies, Hideaway is a secret that only those who know where to look, will find.

The perfect summer getaway doesn’t exist — except, maybe it does. Meet the accommodation shrouded in mystery, Washington foliage, and adventure. Though cozy all year round, something about experiencing this cabin-like room during the warmer season feels especially nostalgic and magical.

So, How Does One Find This Secret escape?

Hideaway is quite literally a hidden gem. Follow the twinkling lights down the tall, winding staircase that runs along the moss covered hill, then wander under Burl’s other-worldly sky bridge, and onto the narrow dirt path that leads to the cozy cabin.

The Retreat From One World Into Another.

The fairy-light lined porch of Hideaway is complete with two sunchairs, a rustic wooden railing, and a translucent roof that allows the sun to filter through and light the space. This is the perfect homey spot to sip your morning coffee and listen to the birds chirp in the forest.

Wake Up to Peace and Serenity.

Wake up in Hideaway’s luxurious king bed to the sound of rushing water from the Raging River, just a small walk down the slope. Large windows cover each wall of Hideaway, providing ample forest views.

The Down-to-Earth Reading Nook.

The cozy fur-covered chairs with ample natural light streaming in through the windows create a perfect spot to read and relax after an adventurous day exploring the many forest trails surrounding Treehouse Point. Bring a book, or buy one of ours, for a laidback evening in the pages!

Now, Let’s Talk Toilet.

This might be the cutest toilet ever– if that can even be said about a toilet. A delicate moon-shaped carving on the door gives a nod to historic antique outhouses. The toilet at Hideaway is compostable, which means less water waste and a more eco-friendly stay!

Compostable toilets not your thing? The Treehouse Point property also has a bathhouse – a full bathroom complete with flushing toilets, luxurious showers, heated floors– everything you could want in a bathroom.

Ananda: The ADA-Accessible Treehouse

Twenty-five feet above the forest floor, overlooking a steep drop into the fern covered forest, is Ananda. Despite its towering height, Ananda is the first ever ADA-accessible commercial treehouse in Washington State. Its towering windows, swooping shingles, and wraparound balcony are just the icing on this intricately designed escape.

Hidden in the Pacific Northwest is a treehouse unlike any other. Its towering windows, swooping shingles, and wraparound balcony are just the icing on this intricately designed escape. Welcome to Ananda at Treehouse Point.

Mornings at Ananda feel enchanted. The scent of pine, evergreen, and morning mist mingle with the rich aroma of a freshly brewed pour-over. The patio, though cool from the morning air, is welcoming. You sink into the patio chair, close your eyes, and breathe it all in.

“This is the perfect morning,” you whisper.

Saving the best for last

Ananda is the seventh, and final treehouse at our luxury treehouse bed and breakfast. After discovering this property back in 2005, Pete and Judy Nelson poured their heart and soul into creating treehouses that were not only great quality, but high art. Fifteen years later, they began the ambitious task of finishing their final treehouse: Ananda.

The Treehouse of Bliss

Ananda is named after the neurotransmitter Anandamide, a natural cannabinoid the body creates to enter a state of bliss. This treehouse embodies that happy feeling with its tall, sloping ceilings, panoramic forest views, and its balcony that overlooks the Raging River. Inside, the dark wood panels, plush leather chairs, and animal fur accents elicit a feeling of comfort. Ananda invites you to settle in and stay a while.

Like Butter

Construction rarely goes exactly to plan. That said, the building of Ananda was seamless: a harmonious blend of wood, strength and passion.

On a sunny afternoon, our small crew began installing the plan that was four years in the making, using the HL tab and custom fabricated hardware for stability and longevity of the treehouse.

With a good plan, great people, and easy weather, the construction “went together like butter.”

ADA-Accessible in the Trees

Twenty-five feet above the forest floor, overlooking a steep drop into the fern covered forest, is Ananda. Despite its towering height, Ananda is the first ever ADA-accessible commercial treehouse in Washington State. Notice the long, gentle ramp that leads to Ananda’s deck, and note how the amenities inside are designed for easy accessibility.

We are proud to have a luxury treehouse that’s accessible to people with mobility limitations. These premium experiences are often sparse for people with disabilities. However at Nelson, we are firm believers that the more people who get to be in the trees, the better!

Art in the canopy

Run your hands along the walls of Ananda and feel the cedar shingles swoop like ocean waves. Listen to the rushing water of the Raging River from the balcony. Let sunlight stream across your skin as you wake to birdsong. Each tiny detail of Ananda is intentional.

Fun Fact: The crew calls the shingles “swingles” due to their swooping, swinging nature!

Modern Lodging

This single story treehouse is the epitome of Modern. In addition to the sleek king bed and the floor to ceiling windows, Ananda is fit with a gas fireplace and a fully plumbed half-bath. This picturesque accommodation is often used as a suite for newlyweds or as a backdrop for unforgettable photos.

Notice the deep-colored wood surrounding you as you step into Ananda. The interior of Ananda is made from the finest redwood & Douglas fir timbers from Pete’s reclaimed wood collection.

Stay With Us!

This is the perfect romantic escape for those who want a unique and intimate getaway in the woods! Find your bliss, with Ananda.

Burl: The Honeymoon Suite at Treehouse Point

The Burl is known as the honeymoon suite, as many newlyweds choose it for its amenities and proximity to the Raging River. Overlooking a steep drop, the Burl is secluded, romantic, and the perfect getaway spot for lovebirds. The Nelson Treehouse crew created the Burl in 2013.

Walking across the bridge to the Burl at Treehouse Point is like being transported into a fairytale. Overhead, branches draped in soft moss form an opulent canopy. At the end of the bridge, a mighty fir rockets from the forest floor, soaring 200 feet into the air. Burl curls around this prodigious trunk at 14 feet from the ground.

Crows Nests

The Burl has three crow's nests: one just above the roofline, one at 30 feet, and one at 140 feet up the fir. Originally, a steel ladder led to these towering platforms—for safety purposes, the crow's nests are no longer accessible. But don't worry: the views from the Burl's deck and sleeping loft are perfectly breathtaking!

The higher up you go in a tree, the more it moves—so you can imagine what an adventure the 140-foot crow's nest was.

The first floor of Burl

Just inside the door lies a built-in counter with a coffee and tea station. Wide windows and comfy armchairs make for a reading nook with unbeatable views. Back by the armchairs, a ship's ladder rises to the sleeping loft.

The deck

Doors open to a back covered deck, which looks out toward the Raging River. Experience serenity as you lounge on one of the two wooden chairs, listening to the birds sing and water crash against the rocks below.

The Loft

The sleeping loft holds a queen-sized bed and a half bathroom with running water. Plentiful windows remind you that you are sleeping in the trees. Guests can lower a barrier that hinges down to block the ladder, keeping sleepwalkers safe and sound. Beside the bed and behind a set of doors is a fully plumbed bathroom.

A Favorite

Many members of our crew cite the Burl as one of their all-time favorite treehouses because of its organic design and gorgeous setting. It's no wonder why couples opt for it as their honeymoon suite!
